Nourishment and midlife coaching

You have one life. Let it feel like yours.

What if change could feel less like loss and more like possibility? Work through what is changing, document the life you have lived, and create what comes next with courage, curiosity, and excitement.

Nourishment has to work within your life.

You know what you are “supposed” to do, but the advice ignores your time, energy, attention, budget, or changing body.

Planning, shopping, cooking, eating, and cleaning up require more capacity than people acknowledge.

Food has become another place where health, discipline, body size, and worth are tangled together.

You want practical support without restriction, shame, moral judgment, or a perfect plan.

The goal is not perfect eating. It is helping you feel informed, capable, nourished, and free to enjoy food.

Featured nourishment pathway

Nourishment should not be a luxury.

It should not require a large grocery budget, hours of meal preparation, endless energy, expensive ingredients, or a perfect plan. Real life has limits. We have budgets for money, time, energy, attention, and ideas. Nourishment has to work within your life.

Together, we examine the stories you have been taught about food, weight, health, discipline, and worth. Then we build practical ways of nourishing you that fit your needs, preferences, culture, schedule, resources, and changing body.

Food can be nourishment, pleasure, memory, culture, connection, comfort, and fuel. It can taste good. It can bring people together. It can support your body without becoming another measure of whether you are doing life correctly.

The Riot & Radiance path

First, we tell the truth about what we were taught. Then we choose what will nourish us now.

What might have changed if we had been taught to nourish our bones for the future instead of shrinking our bodies for approval? Many of us learned to think about food and our bodies through rules built around thinness, desirability, discipline, and shame. We can question those inherited messages, decide what no longer belongs to us, and create ways of caring for ourselves that support the bodies we have now and the lives we still want to live.

What is weighing on me?

Talk it through without being rushed into a solution. We name what feels heavy, confusing, unfinished, or stagnant.

Question the rules

Women were given rules, not truth. Those rules served beauty standards, marketing, and approval.

Reclaim

What is my story now?

Gather the losses, strengths, wishes, and curiosities into a personal narrative you can see and use.

Hello, I’m Angela

A desert dweller growing older, better, and truer to myself.

I am not here to create a fountain of youth. I am here to help you radiate right here, exactly where you are.

Angela smiling outdoors

I have worked in hairstyling, skincare, and well-being for more than 20 years. Somewhere in between, I earned a master’s degree and a PhD and built a career in research and big data.

As a stylist, I have always focused on practices that nurture rather than strip, damage, or erase. My research background gave me the tools to examine the science behind what supports healthy hair, skin, bodies, and minds as we move through hormonal change and midlife.

My own path here included repeated injuries after decades of long-distance trail running and heavy lifting, disrupted routines, burnout, and a difficult work experience that made me want to shelter from the things that once brought me joy. I did what I know how to do: I read the research and started making connections.

What I learned is that I was not alone. Riot & Radiance grew from the belief that women deserve understandable information, thoughtful support, and room to become more of themselves—not less—as they age.

My work is strengths-based and whole-person. We begin with your beauty, style, preferences, creativity, experience, and wisdom, rather than someone else’s idea of who you should become.

In coaching, we can examine how diet culture, productivity culture, and expectations about women and aging have shaped the way you see yourself. Then we build practical, more compassionate ways to challenge those narratives and decide what you want now.

Questions you may have

Do I need to know what I want?

No. Not knowing is a valid starting point. We can begin by understanding what changed, what feels unfinished, and what deserves your attention now.

Is this only career coaching?

No. Career may be part of the work, but midlife change rarely stays in one category. We can explore identity, empty nesting, loss, abundance, creativity, nourishment, movement, routines, relationships, or another transition that matters to you.

What if my energy changes from week to week?

The process is built for fluctuating capacity. We can slow down, make an experiment smaller, revisit a decision, or change the way you participate.

Is nourishment coaching a diet or meal plan?

No. We can explore food stories, capacity, routines, preferences, groceries, recipes, and practical options, but I do not prescribe calories, macros, supplements, therapeutic diets, or weight-loss plans.

Do I have to purchase the full package?

No. You can begin with a single clarity session. If you later choose the full pathway, we will decide together how that first session fits into the process.

Who is Riot & Radiance for?

Riot & Radiance welcomes women approaching and navigating midlife, including cisgender and transgender women and nonbinary people who identify with these experiences.

Clear scope, honest support

Coaching is not therapy.

Riot & Radiance offers reflective conversation, attentive listening, identity exploration, decision support, research-informed education, and accountability for self-directed change.

It does not diagnose or treat mental illness, process trauma clinically, manage medication, provide medical nutrition or injury treatment, offer crisis care, or replace a licensed medical or mental health professional.

You choose what to share and remain responsible for your decisions. Coaching can also complement work you are already doing with a therapist or healthcare professional.
